I'm so grateful that my photography clients have kept me busy this year. Since I haven't had the time to blog much, I figured I'd do a post to include 2018 newborn babies! It's been such an honor to photograph so many babies here on Guam and I'm so excited to continue in 2019. Thank you for your kindness and support! This is my first ever blogged milestone session! I never actually shared that I moved into a studio in Hagatna, Guam at the beginning of the year. As exciting as it was, it was also tons of work trying to keep up with sessions and figure out how to work with my space. One of the great things is that I now get to do studio children's photo sessions. These are becoming favorites of mine. I really love seeing everything come together and photographing little one's getting into their cake is so much fun! I can't wait to do more cake smash sessions. Kelli chose a beautiful Guam beach location for her maternity session. This location requires a bit of a walk to get to, but the view is always worth the walk. Her husband was deployed and so we got photos of just her for her session. She had two dresses and I was obsessed with both of them. One was a classy lace dress and the other was the prettiest green color.
I got to meet her newborn baby boy not long after her maternity session. Her husband was able to make it back to meet their baby boy and I was able to capture some family photos of them during their newborn session! Here are some favorites of mine from Kelli’s maternity and newborn session! As a Guam Photographer, I do many sessions at Guam's beautiful beaches. I'm always excited to shoot in Guam's beautiful hillside since I don't get to do sessions in the hills as often. Lorenzo and Taylor are active in promoting the Chamorro culture here in Guam. Before having baby Nina'i, you could often find them at Guam’s Valley of the Latte showing off the traditions of the Chamorro culture. I’m sure their baby girl will be joining them there soon! They recently welcomed their baby girl, Nina’i Guinaiya. Nina’i means “Gift” and Guinaiya means “Love” in the Chamorro language. I can’t think of a more beautiful name for a beautiful baby girl. I usually do newborn photo sessions within the first 2 weeks but we got Nina’i in for her session at 3 weeks old. She did awesome and I was so happy to see her for her newborn session! After going back and forth with possible locations, Shannon decided on a beautiful Guam beach for her photo session. One of the great things about Guam is that there are so many gorgeous beaches to choose from. This beach isn’t one that I use often for sessions because there’s a little hike to get to it, but it worked out great. Shannon told me that she hiked often so I know this little hike was a piece of cake for her.
You know how people say that expecting mommas glow? Well Shannon was one of those momma’s who had this glow. I think her positive and upbeat energy comes off in her photos as well. I had so much fun with Shannon and her husband during their photo session. I always love hearing the stories of where people are from and what brought them to Guam. They were such a great couple and I’m looking forward to meeting their baby girl soon! After what seemed like a marathon of beach maternity sessions at the exact same location, I was really dying to do something in the green grassy hills. Guam has gorgeous beaches so most of my sessions end up being at the beach. Not many people think to do photo sessions in Guam's beautiful hills. I ended up asking my friend and fellow photographer who happened to be pregnant if she'd be willing to do a session with me out in the hills. We live about 5 minutes away from each other and this location is about 5 minutes away as well so it seemed easy enough. Of course, the rain decided to make things difficult. It poured on the original day we scheduled the session. We settled on a day 2 weeks later and all seemed to be going well with the weather but as I was leaving for the session, it started pouring. Roxanne had scheduled to her make-up that day so there was no turning back. The rain stopped but that left us with a whole lot of mud and puddles. There was definitely a lot of sliding around. I ended up barefoot and Roxanne's shoe broke by the end of it. At the end of the day, it was a whole lot of fun and I got to do something different than the usual. Looking for a Guam Photographer? The V's family session was done at one of Guam's beautiful beaches that showcases an amazing cliff line. This beach is a favorite of mine because of the rich greens and blues in the ocean. We also did some shots up on the cliff line that provided more gorgeous views of the ocean. Amber's husband was leaving the island soon so it was important we did these photos as scheduled. It was extremely windy and we even had to run and hide under cover as the rain came in mid session. The entire summer seemed to rain on all of my sessions, but that didn't stop us from getting beautiful photos. . The V kids were so much fun to work with. The bond between their kids was so great to photograph. By the end of the session, their little guy was taking after me and directing their family poses. I think they have a future photographer on their hands! Looking for a Guam Photographer? I'd love to work with you and your family! One of my favorite parts of maternity sessions is getting to know parents who are in the same boat as I am with two little ones or one toddler and a newborn on the way! It was fun talking with Lindsay about the parenthood roller coaster that we all experience as parents. Both of our little ones were two and a half at the time and were experiencing the same things. As a momma of a two year old & four year old, I was excited for her to welcome her little boy soon. It’s challenging but there is so much joy that comes from welcoming in a new addition to the family, and watching your first child became a big brother or sister. We did Lindsay's maternity session at Guam's Asan Beach Park. It’s a beautiful park with rows of coconut trees, a nice beach, and grassy field. The sun perfectly sets over this location. I loved Lindsay’s dress. It was casual and something I would wear. Everything went perfect and it was so much fun photographing and chatting with Lindsay! Looking for a Guam maternity photographer? This maternity session was done at one of Guam's beautiful beaches. There's a bit of a trek to get there which allows me to get to know my clients better as we walk to the location. One of my favorite things about being a Guam photographer is getting to meet people from all over the world. As I talked to my clients, I quickly found out that Talyta, the beautiful soon-to-be momma is from Brazil, and her husband's service in the Air Force had brought them to Guam. Brazil is definitely on my list of places to visit so I was excited when she told me that! As we walked in, I noticed how low the tide was. I had never seen it so low at that location! There was almost no water. The sun was super harsh with not a cloud in the sky. As a photographer, this is one of those situations that test you. You have to know how to work your camera and know where to place your subjects to work with what you've been dealt! I know Talyta was a little bummed when we realized we wouldn't be getting the beautiful turquoise waters that you get from Guam, but you have to work with what nature deals and I think her session turned out beautiful anyway. We had talked about wardrobe prior to the session and Talyta picked out a couple of dresses from my collection that she wanted to use during the session. She also brought a few of her own. We managed to fit in four outfit changes. I welcome outfit changes during sessions because I like how different outfits change the feel of the photos! It helps to give a nice variety to client's photo galleries. This session was filled with so much love. It was so apparent how in love Talyta & Marc were with each other and with their baby. They were the nicest couple too. I really am so lucky to have the best clients!! Looking for a Guam maternity photographer? I'd love to work with you! Weston reached out to me for a family session and after exchanging some location ideas we settled on a beautiful Guam location with views overlooking the ocean. Weston was doing this as a surprise anniversary gift. What a great idea! Their sweet little girl was turning one so I made sure to include some photos of the birthday girl! It was a gorgeous Guam day. The sun was shining and the weather was nice and cool. Little Elora explored as one year olds do. She was the cutest little explorer. The beautiful Guam hillside, sunlight, and this family made for a beautiful session! Looking for a Guam family photographer? I'd love to work with you!
