Jennifer's maternity session was beautiful. It was fun getting to know her and her family as we walked to and from this beautiful Guam beach location. Jennifer is from Germany and it was so cool to hear her talking to her little boy in German. Her little one was just the cutest. I love that many of the maternity sessions I get to do include their families. It's an exciting time with big transitions and it's always so special to capture those fleeting moments before their families welcome in a new addition. This particular family is welcoming another baby boy! As a momma of two boys, I really get how special it is. It's awesome to see the bond between my boys and I'm excited for her little one to welcome a little brother into his life. Here are some of my favorites from this beautiful maternity session! I'm excited to blog Travis & Jennifer's engagement session because it was a first for me! I normally don't photograph engagement sessions but I made an exception when Jennifer contacted me. Travis works with my husband and I figured why not give it a shot. I'm so glad I did! I really loved how their session turned out. I see so much joy when I look through their gallery of photos. So much laughter filled this session and I love how every time they would break out in laughter, Travis would adoringly look at Jennifer. Laughter, love, and this gorgeous Guam backdrop was a recipe for a beautiful session! I know that these two are destined for a lifetime of happiness. Looking for a Guam Photographer? I was really excited to meet baby Connor since I photographed his momma's maternity session a month before at Tarague Beach on Andersen Air Force Base. He was so adorable with all his cute little expressions. Connor had me smiling the entire time! I couldn't get enough of his expressions and his cute little noises he made throughout his newborn session. What I love most about being a Guam Photographer is being able to capture families grow and evolve. I love that I was able to be a part of capturing two incredibly important times in this family's life. Here are some of my favorites from Connor's newborn session! The Mendez family holds a special place in my photography journey. We met almost 3 years ago at a command event and they've been in our lives ever since. I've had the honor of capturing everything from birth announcement, maternity, newborn, and family photos over the years. One of my favorite things about being a photographer is being able to see families grow and I've been able to do this with the Mendez family. Not only have I seen the Mendez family grow but they've helped me grow so much in my photography. Brittany always puts her trust in my location decisions. I had been eyeing a spot for what seemed like forever and of course, Britanny was game. I was hoping for some beautiful sunlight but instead got rainy weather and gloomy skies, but it all worked out great. I'm sad that their journey on Guam will be ending soon, but happy they will be moving closer to family. Our families have grown close over the years and this is truly one of the hardest things about military life. Leaving those you grow close to is never easy, but hopefully our paths will cross again in the future! I really am so grateful to the Mendez family. Brittany has played a huge part in making this photography vision of mine come together and it means more to me than she could possibly know. Thank you Mendez family! My family and I will miss you!! I couldn't have been more happy when Gianna contacted me about family photos and explained what she envisioned for her session. Trees, grass, sunlight...these three things should be easy enough for a photographer to find on Guam, right? I drove around the island to find the perfect spot. The perfect spot happened to be a random spot in the Guam hills. I was so happy that Gianna trusted me with this location. Not only was it everything we were looking for, but there were beautiful wild orchids everywhere! I drive by these hills all the time and never quite realized their beauty until I was preparing for this session. We had the perfect spot. Now it was time for their session! I loved how they coordinated their outfits, and their little guy was the cutest in his bow tie and hat. After weeks of Guam's rainy weather, we finally had sun the entire day! It all worked out perfectly. Here are some of my favorites from the Santos family session! Looking for a Guam Photographer? I'd love to work with you! I love it when I get new newborn wraps, headbands, and outfits in the mail! As a Guam newborn photographer, sometimes it's difficult to get things sent here. So I was excited when all my new products arrived and I couldn't wait to try them out. Baby Mya was such a beautiful newborn baby girl. She was intent on not sleeping but that was alright with me. That just gave me extra time to rock her to sleep! One of the best perks of being a Guam newborn photographer is getting some time to rock babies to sleep. I think baby Mya was just really in love with her gorgeous momma and wanted to look at her all morning! After a few hours, we were able to get some beautiful photos of Mya and her beautiful little family. In the end, she was coziest in the arms of her parents and she fell fast asleep when it came time for family photos. I love capturing new parents with their babies. It's such a special time to photograph. Here are some of my favorites from this newborn session! Looking for a Guam Newborn Photographer? I'd love to work with you! At the end of last year I had the pleasure of photographing Victoria's maternity session. I loved this session because it was clear that this couple was so in love with each other. We had the most beautiful sunlight by the end of the session, the cutest momma to be, and so much love to photograph. This was a photography recipe for success. Fast forward several months later and I'm photographing beautiful baby Grace at 6 months old. Seriously, this baby girl is such a beauty. And how cute is she in her little batgirl outfit?! The Viramontes family moved to Guam a little over a year ago and are full of adventure. They’re a fun-loving family and I wanted to capture this in their photos. This was their first family photo session and I wanted to make sure it was beautiful. I found a spot with beautiful flame trees where the sun hit just right. I really loved the richness and beautiful colors we were going to get from this location! We had some challenges! Guam is pretty unpredictable when it comes to weather. It rained just before their family session and the grass was wet and itchy. We later had to deal with toads and finally had wild pigs running by!! Ohhh....and the cute little puppy in their photos was rescued by our family and these guys decided to adopt her. Her name is Hazel and I'm so happy she found such a great home!! And here are some photos of Hazel with her sisters the day after we rescued them! We ended up keeping the white puppy. Looking for a Guam family photographer? This little girl has to be one of the most adorable little girls ever. I was pretty excited when her momma told me the theme of her birthday party. They were doing a Guam theme since she was born on Guam. She mentioned that she wanted to do her session with latte stones and that she was building her party around the plumeria flower. Latte stones are unique to Guam and the Marianas Islands. They are pillars that were used as support to ancient houses and are unique in their two piece construction topped with a capstone. You can still find real latte stones throughout Guam and the Marianas Islands. They are pretty magnificent when you think about their size and how the Chamorro people were able to construct the latte stones and their houses. I found out from a friend that there were little latte stones at the Government of Guam Complex so I went to check those out. They were super cute little latte stones. Then I was off to check out the latte stones in Inarajan, Guam. I found some plumeria trees while turning around near the latte stones so it seemed like the perfect spot! Now it was time for her session! She wore the cutest plumeria dress and plumeria headband while I photographed her under the plumeria trees. And check out the awesome sign her momma put together all on her own. I was so impressed! She later changed into her cute tutu and her onesie. Her momma did an amazing job making her tutu as well. Every little detail from her Guam seal headband to her plumeria necklace and her onesie with the island of Guam and plumerias worked so perfectly together. It was such a pleasure working with this adorable birthday girl and her momma!! Looking for a Guam photographer to photograph a milestone session? As a Guam photographer and mother, Maternity sessions are truly special to me. This blog is all about beautiful Brittany's maternity session. I was so excited to capture this time in her life. We chose to do them at Navy Base Guam so her and her family wouldn't have to travel far. We started out with photos to include beautiful big sister Ava. I love the connection and playfulness between them. This momma LOVES her daughter and I'm glad I was able to capture this in her session. It worked out great that we started with momma and Ava because like many 3 year olds, she soon lost interest in taking photos. We moved on to couple maternity photos and then to individual photos before the rain forced us to end the session. We had a great session even with the rainy weather! The chances of rain on Guam are pretty high, but the sun usually comes through even on the rainiest days and it did for this session. Looking for a maternity photographer located on Guam? Send me a message at lisavelezphotos@gmail.com or visit the contact session of my website to book a session. Thanks for stopping by!!
